ECHOES Needs Assessment Report Published!

We are proud to share the results of our Needs Assessment Report, an important milestone of the ECHOES Project – Youth Voices for Climate Action in European Elections.

Conducted across Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Türkiye, and the Netherlands, the study gathered insights from 127 participants, including young people (16–30) and youth workers. It highlights significant gaps in climate awareness, policy engagement, and support resources — but also strong motivation and readiness to act.

Key findings reveal:

  • Widespread climate anxiety and a shared sense of exclusion from decision-making processes.

  • A need for better education, communication skills, mental health support, and advocacy tools.

  • Digital media and social platforms are crucial for youth engagement, but barriers remain in reaching policymakers effectively.

The study underscores the urgent need for targeted support such as funding, training, educational resources, and strategic networking opportunities to empower the next generation of climate advocates.

Through this needs assessment, ECHOES aims to develop innovative training, resources, and advocacy tools to strengthen youth-led climate action across Europe.
