VALS visits Zaragoza’s Environmental Office with young people from the ECHOES project
On 29 April, VALS visited the Oficina de Medio Ambiente of Zaragoza City Council together with a group of young people involved in the local activities of the ECHOES project.
The visit began with a presentation of the ECHOES project, its objectives and the work carried out so far. The team from the Oficina de Medio Ambiente, represented by Jesús and Eva, welcomed the initiative very positively and congratulated the young people and VALS for the work developed within the project.
After this introduction, the young participants had the opportunity to present themselves and share some of the ideas they had developed during the local ECHOES activities. This was a particularly valuable moment, as they were able to explain their reflections, concerns and proposals related to sustainability, climate action and youth participation.
Jesús and Eva then introduced the work carried out by the Oficina de Medio Ambiente, explaining the different initiatives promoted by Zaragoza City Council in the field of environmental awareness, education and sustainability. The session ended with an open Q&A, where the young people could ask questions, exchange views and learn more about local environmental policies and opportunities for participation.
The visit was a very positive experience for the group. The young participants felt that their voices were heard and valued, and they also highlighted how much they learned about the different environmental initiatives currently being developed by the Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza.
This meeting helped strengthen the connection between young people, local institutions and environmental action, which is one of the key aims of the ECHOES project.
