ECHOES Project Local Trainings were held in İzmir on 20 - 27 November 2025!

As part of the CADPRO project, EFTA organized two Local Training Sessions in İzmir, bringing together 18 young people aged between 19 and 29 from universities, youth clubs, volunteering networks, and local youth structures.

The programme focused on climate awareness, climate advocacy, misinformation, policymaker outreach, and climate leadership. Four activities from the CADPRO toolkit were implemented: Media Framing, Policymaker Outreach, Truth or Myth! Debunking, and Analysing Climate Leadership.

To make the sessions more relevant to participants, the activities were adapted to the Turkish context and delivered in Turkish. Discussions connected climate change with issues young people encounter in everyday life, including wildfires, extreme heat, public transport, air pollution, waste, water shortages, access to green spaces, and climate-related content on social media.

Through practical activities, group discussions, and local examples, participants explored how climate issues are framed in media, how to identify misleading information, how young people can communicate with local decision-makers, and how leadership can take different forms within communities.

The trainings supported young people in seeing climate action not only as an environmental issue, but also as a matter of communication, civic participation, collective action, and local decision-making. The implementation also highlighted the importance of making climate education practical, accessible, and closely connected to young people’s everyday experiences.
